HR-Ikkunat Ruhkala Oy was founded in 1957
HR-Ikkunat RUHKALA OY was founded in 1957. We manufacture wooden and wooden aluminium windows.
Three generations of window makers
As a young man, company founder Heikki Ruhkala (born 1911) started his carpentry business from his home workshop as was customary at that time. After the war, Heikki continued to make a variety of carpentry products for construction such as windows, doors and furniture. Heikki Ruhkala was one of the shareholders who founded the company Ylivieskan Puusepät where both he and his sons have worked.
When his sons were growing up, Heikki rented a workshop in the village of Tynkä in Kalajoki and, in 1957, he built his own carpentry workshop on the same site the company still occupies today.
The company has continued to work, expand and invest in machinery here and is now focussing on window manufacture. Today, Heikki’s sons have made way for the third generation to take over the window manufacturing business, and develop the manufacturing process to meet modern requirements.
